I graduated from Penn State College of Medicine in 2002. Afterward, I completed two residencies: one in Pediatrics at St. Vincent’s Hospital in the West Village of New York City and the other in Preventive Medicine at Johns Hopkins.

However, everything took an unexpected turn on June 29, 2007, the day before my final day of residency. That’s when the iPhone was released, and I seized the opportunity to launch the world’s first house call practice powered by my new iPhone in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. My practice gained immense popularity, and within the first month, I received an astonishing 7 million hits on my website. That unlocked my entire career going forward:

2007 — Co-founded Hello Health

2009 — Co-founded The Future Well

2012 — Founder and CEO Sherpaa

2009 — Sherpaa was acquired by Crossover Health

2021 — Chief Product Officer at Reset Health

2022 — Chief Medical Officer at Nabla

2022 — Chief Medical Officer at Sana Benefits

My principles

1. Design everything— it's all art

Every detail is an opportunity to make users feel great. They never forget feelings.

2. Invest backstage

Behind the greatest experiences on Earth is an exceptional team the audience never sees. Invest in giving them superpowers.

3. Speak the truth

Everyone wants straight talk. The most successful companies do the right thing by people.

4. No money, no mission

Businesses must be almost immediately financially sustainable.

5. Great doesn't need big money

The things we love the most are almost always built by small teams of top talent.
